Xiaomi 14 Ultra Unlikely to be Released in India Due to This Reason

The Xiaomi 14 Ultra has been launched in China and also revealed to the global market this week. But the new Ultra phone will again miss out on its trip to India, as highlighted by several reports. Xiaomi 14 will be launched in India, which the company has already confirmed.

The brand has decided not to remove the Xiaomi 14 Pro from its home market. But the bigger question is about Xiaomi’s reluctance to launch the 14 Ultra in India, and the reasons are probably easy to guess.

Xiaomi has built its name on the country’s price-quality ratio, the pricing of which has now become much higher than ever before. In fact, the Redmi Note range will go up to Rs 40,000 in the country, which was not the case in the early days of the company.

The Ultra version in recent years showcased Xiaomi’s focus on high-end imaging technology with Leica, and the results have been the most impressive. People have been asking Xiaomi to release the 13 Ultra along with the 13 Pro last year, but that didn’t happen. The premium category is practically led by Apple, and then you have Samsung and probably Google in a distant third.

OnePlus and Vivo have also shown their flagship ambitions in recent years and seem happy to play the game as other models ramp up volumes. So why can’t Xiaomi have a similar strategy and show everyone that it is ready to fight the big guys with the Ultra? Well, the main reason may be related to pricing. The Xiaomi 14 Ultra, which was announced in Europe this week, is priced at well over 1,000,000 rupees. Even Google doesn’t stand a chance with pixels in this range.

Samsung seems to have bucked the trend and moved to a higher table. But Xiaomi needs a lot of work before going in that direction. It is believed that the Xiaomi 14 is no slouch with a Leica-powered camera, and it is possible that the company wants to do a dry run with the latest model and assess whether the Ultra has a chance in the country later.
